Biography
Originally from Mainland China, this little beauty's appearance in the Fists Of The White Lotus gave us a glimpse, of her extraordinary talents. As Wang Lung-Wei's sister in The Treasure Hunters, she used the "Double Swords" with grace and dexterity. Yet, this is just a sample of what she could do, as far as her talents are concerned. Liu Chia-Liang invited her to Hong Kong after he caught her performance at a Wu Shu event and was amazed by her skill. Since she signed with Shaw Bros' she has made some good films, but she has not had the success of actresses like Hui Ying-Hung or Lily Li.
She was excellent in The Lady Assassin (wielding a sword again), but her talents were totally wasted in films like 2 Champions Of Shaolin and the Shaw classic 8 Diagram Pole Fighters, where she basically, just read lines. Her cameo in License To Steal really did her no justice as well, as it just made us wish she had a bigger part. She has spent much of her time behind the camera as well; she is currently the only female Choreographer working in Hong Kong today.
You can see her perform a Tai-Chi Sword form at the end of the Top Fighter 2 documentary, on female fighters. What you will see is a woman who was definitely dedicated to her craft, as her performance was flawless. Today, she is one of the (2) women who are active members of the Asia's elite group found in the Hong Kong Stuntman Association. Had she come out during the time of stars like Angela Mao and Chia Ling, we may have been calling her - the Queen Of Kung Fu.
