Wang Lung-Wei

Biography
He was, said to be, Hong Kong's answer, to Wang Jang-Li (and in some ways that could have been true). They both were awesome fighters and both (usually) had to be "double-teamed" to be beaten in most of their better films. In some ways, he's like Bruce Liang; somewhat stocky, yet, he moved with lightning speed and precision. His viciousness was, thoroughly, backed up by a serious skill-level, which he displayed often.
In 1974, he began working at Shaw Bros' his skills caught the eye of Liu Chia-Liang, who would later cast him in numerous roles as the lead villain in many of his films. Often, starring opposite Gordon Liu, their onscreen fights against each other have become legendary. Films like Return Of The Master Killer, 8 Diagram Pole Fighters, and Young Vagabond, have helped them both, become household names.
Yet, it was the alley fight-scene in Instructors Of Death, that many remember him by. When he broke into a split (against the wall) and continued to trade blows with his opponent, you just knew that this guy was something special. He 's stated the late Fu Sheng, was one of his favorite actors to work with and their films together showed a certain type of chemistry between the two. Films such as The Shaolin Temple, 5 Masters Of Death, The Treasure Hunters, and Demon Fists Of Kung Fu, show that they indeed worked well, off of each other.
Even Samo Hung, recognized his talents and cast him in the excellent 2 Toothless Tigers, which only increased his star-power (battling against Samo and Yuen Sheng-I). He, once, stated that he wished he could have met Bruce Lee in a Sparring match, to really test Lee's martial-arts skill. He has done some fine work within the kung-fu genre, leaving a mark that few can attest to. He, later, began directing films and still occasionally appeared in a few throughout the 90’s, such as New Legend Of Shaolin, with Jet Li.
