Biography
He played the Japanese cook in The Chinese Connection and "Uncle Wang" in the Way Of The Dragon, but long before that, he was churning out movies for Shaw Brothers in the 60's. His only starring role was in The Magnificent Swordsman, and he did a great job. Back during this period it was more about acting, than kicking and punching, but that didn't stop them from making new and interesting stories. During the 60's, he became one of the more meanacing villains at Shaw studios. He was at his best (worst) in the film Iron Buddha; where he murdered men, raped women and tormented a very young, Lung Chun-Erh.
He was married to stablemate Chiao Chiao,appearing with her onscreen in a number of films such as - One-Armed Swordsman, A Cause To Kill, 12 Gold Medallions, The Silent Swordsman, and the independant, Dragon Blows. Though it seems that most people somehow can't get into the sword films of the 60's and 70's, but they are still an important part of the genre. While he played mostly villains (he could wield a mean sword), and his acting was still beyond many of the actors he's worked with. His villainous portrayals, were some of the best of the Swordplay genre. He died in (1976) from a Brain Tumor.
