Biography
I think the only real classic the she's appeared in was Master Of The Flying Guillotine, but this film had so many wonderful fight scenes, that she was easily overshadowed (again). Though you may see her pouting in her films, she's not one those women who'll wait around to be rescued (though it usually works that way in the end). She has enough fighting skills to at least get away, but never displays that viciousness that is so needed sometimes. Like Polly and Chia, you'll find her disguised as a man often, whom I never really got, as they're always are wearing Lipstick as in 2 Assassins Of The Darkness.
She's pretty to look at, but that don't get the job done in the fight-game. She's more in the same class as actors like Cheng Yeh-Kang, where the desire is there, but pulling it off, is another story. She was the female version of Carter Wong, in that she was a workaholic, sometimes working on up to (4) or more pictures simultaneously. Yet, I think she worked so much to keep herself from thinking about other things.
Rumors of her off-screen exploits (Love life), seemed to overshadowed her onscreen work. As beautiful as she was, she had the hardest time with the men in her life. It got so bad, that directors would not use her in their films because of her many suicide attempts. They felt that if they hired her and she succeeded in killing herself, she would not only ruin their movie, but also cost them money and bad press as well. She is another actress that did so many kung-fu films, that she couldn’t crossover to mainstream acting in Modern roles as other fighting females sometimes did. I, personally, couldn't see her doing anything else.
