Also known as Candy Wen, she's sexy, can fight (Studio-trained), and is usually playing a Tomboy-type character or a devilish killer. In 2 Champions Of Death she had no problems with killing whoever stood in her way. Playing Wei Pai's wife in the underrated, The Cheeky Chap - she seemed more like she was just there, for the ride, as she was played the Damsel-in-Distress. Discovered when she went to an audition with a friend, she's been in a number of films, but not nearly enough that show her as a skill as a fighter.
Against stars like Angela Mao, Chia Ling, Polly Shang-Kwan, or Cheng Pei-Pei, she'd be in serious trouble, but against most guys who fall for the "Pretty-little-Innocent-girl" routine, you'll (usually) find them with a knife in their back or a slipper in their throat. Though, she was entertaining in Crazy Horse, Intelligent Monkey with Chi Kuan-Chun, and all she got to do was "Pout" in 3 Evil Masters, as she really had nothing to do with the storyline. She had decent parts in films like Lady Assassin and Holy Flame Of The Martial World, but she's never given that performance, which set her apart from most females of her era.
She, like many females during this time, knew that they weren't being taken seriously (in the roles that they were given). They wanted much more dramatic rolesm that would show them as actresses, who got to wear Dresses and fashionable clothes - not kung-fu uniforms and slippers. They had fashioned themselves after American actresses, but there wasn't much that they could do within the confines of the studio-system. They either played the parts they were given or they risked the chance of not working at all.
