Biography
Another of kung-fu's hidden talents; he has played in countless films and usually can go un-noticed (except in the fighting-department), lending his skills to many production projects. Whether he's an insidious student trying to get even because of jealousy (Revenge Of Fist Of Fury) or the teacher who's willing to help out the hero in danger (Fearless Young Boxer), his performances always have some meaningful value to the films he's starred in.
I remembered him in 60 Second Assassin, as the grandfather, who just happened to be on the list of people, that "Minute Fong" was supposed to kill. In the obscure film, Revenge Is Sweet, battling screen veteran Kao Fei in a climatic fight. He's appeared in enough films with Jimmy Wang-Yu, to actually become one of his trusted crew. Films like Beach Of The War Gods, Magnificent Chivalry, and Master Of The Flying Guillotine, have found his presence (and his skill), more than welcome, in adding to the body count.
He had a short (but sweet) part in Shaolin Invincible Sticks, as a stick fighter who got on the bad side of Chang Yi (didn't they all?). His was a talent, that could be served either in front of or behind the camera, as we would later find him in the film Kung Fu For Sale (as well as a part as a teacher). I think his earlier association with master director Joseph Kuo, helped him tremendously. As an actor, as he definitely got to sharpen his acting and his wicked portrayals, of the many characters he's played.
