Biography
A personal friend of Samo Hung, this guy, usually in the background, has skills that keep him in the forefront as a villain. He was Peking Opera trained and some of his classmates included Lam Ching-Ying, Meng Hoi, and Chien Yueh-Sheng. He, like many, had toiled in bit parts before being offered meatier roles at Golden Harvest. If you look closely at a number of the studio's earlier films, you'll notice him (in the background). One of his first big scenes, was in Enter The Dragon, as one of Han's guards who get killed by as Bolo (Yang Sze).
He almost went undetected as the silly fighter (Choy I-Fan) who issues Samo a challenge to fight at Green Mountain (he is subsequently beaten by Samo before they are actually introduced). In the Magnificent Butcher, he played the crazed Cat-style fighter and to great effect. My only problem with him (or those who hire him) is that he rarely gets the chance to show his stuff. But, when he opens up, he is definitely up there with some of the best villains to hit the screen in this genre. In 2 Toothless Tigers, he looked good, but in His Name Is Nobody, he really got the chance to showcase his skills.

He was a part of the Samo Hung Group, which was basically like Sonny Chiba's Japanese Action Club, where they specialized in the Fight Choreography (for the films they shot). They mainly used the same group of people on the majority of the films they made, because they knew their stuff. Though, he's most comfortable helping with the choreography of a fight scene, in later years, he settled in a Director, as well.
