Biography
Seen in 10 Brothers Of Shaolin playing the villain, who tries to stop Wang Tao from helping a Ming official to safe passage. He reminds me of Chan Shen, though (Chan) actually had some serious fighting roles. Though, he's wasn't the consummate villain, possessing no punching or kicking' abilities that would make men shiver, he was more accustomed to "Weasel and lackey" parts. In the majority of films he's appeared in, he always played the bigger boss' assistant and never the lead villain, himself. One of the older veterans of the genre, he was more of an actor, than a fighter.
Even that mean scowl on his face couldn't save him from Chang Yi and Wang Tao in the very underrated classic 2 Assassins Of The Darkness, as they were both contracted to kill him and the both succeeded in putting a knife in his head (at the same time). Yet, in most movies, he seems to play the roles of the cowardly lackey who wouldn't be caught dead without a gang of men to help him. One of his better roles was in the adventure film Red Beard , but later roles never lived up to anything of that calibre.
