Biography
Another classmate of Jackie Chan, Samo Hung, and others, she's another example of an excellent talent, who played in a few movies and had skills that would put most women to shame. She seems to always be cast as someone's mom, who has tremendous skills, and yet, she always seems to get killed. I enjoyed her in Dragon Claws with Jimmy Liu and Wang Jang-Li. She has excellent technique and timing, but when I saw her in Fearless Duo, I was left in awe of her skill with the Staff.
From what I saw, there is no Female on the screen that could touch her with the Staff - No one. With skills like that, you'd think that Liu Chia-Liang or Liu Chia-Yung would have been told about her, especially since their nephew was starring with her. It seems that some of the best talent was over-looked (Females, that is) by a lot of directors. She starred as Yuen Sheng-I's wife in Dreadnaught, though this cameo had me wishing for more. But, if you get a chance to check out Fearless Duo, believe me, you won't be disappointed.
Not one to sit on the sideline (as she gets older), she can still be seen on the big screen. Now (more than ever) she has been putting her energy, into a major comeback, to the siver-screen. She can be seen still thrilling audiences as of 2005's mega-hit Kung Fu Hustle (complete with Hair-rollers). Like a number of former stars, she's now, going for laughs, as opposed to fighting-roles. She has now garnered a new set of fans, as she embarks on a career as a comedian.
