Biography
Said to be, one of the best all-round athletes to come out of Taiwan. Chang Cheh signed him up in the mid '70s, to add flair to his already awesome group of actors and acrobats. He came aboard, when friction started to change the atmosphere within the group. Known in the Opera circles for his Monkey King impersonations, he was very good with weapons, but not in the calibre of say, Lu Feng (of the Venoms fame). He came to Hong Kong after the original Venoms members came over, and can even be seen in earlier Shaw productions such as - Marco Polo and Demon Fists Of Kung Fu (as a thug/rapist.)
Although, an excellent Acrobat, he has appeared in numerous roles, where he just got beat up or killed (Shaolin King Boxer, The Red Phoenix). He was well-received for his part in 7 Steps Of Kung Fu, as well as Super Ninjas -- but most either didn't recognize him (or can't remember him) as the sidekick to Cheng Fu-Hung in Fatal Needles, Fatal Fists. For the most part, he is a tad bit underrated as a kung-fu star, (probably) because he's played in more supporting roles, than leading ones. He gave us 100 percent, even in a film with about 20 percent content (The Demons). This film had so much acrobatics in it, he should have felt right at home. Yet, his best role to date, would have to be Super Ninjas -- where he even had a bigger role, than Lo Meng.
