Biography
This New York martial-artist had practiced everything from Karate (he earning a 6th Degree Blackbelt in Goju-ryu Karate) to Kung-fu (White Crane). Not one short of an Ego, he constantly voiced how he was a much better martial-artist, than Bruce Lee back in the 70's (Did he see Enter The Dragon??). Even his friend Ron Van Clief used to make the same claim about him. In a magazine article, he said, "William Louie is 1,000 times better than Bruce Lee ever was". If he was at least (10) times better that Bruce Lee, don't you think you would have heard more about him, other reading this article right now? Most couldn't pick him out of a "Line-up" (with or without the mustache).
Yet, in Sonny Chiba's early hit The Bodyguard, we found he giving us his impersonation of Lee (complete with Nunchukus and tracksuit). He has appeared with Lee look-a-like Bruce Le in the decent Bruce Vs Bill, where he (without mustache) actually looked like the Chinese he is. (I think he thought the mustache made him look more American). Here he displayed the kind of talent, that would have had fans waiting to see his next film. This was (easily) the best film that he had appeared in, during the genre's run. It left everything else he'd done, pale in comparison.

He also starred along side Yu Chan-Yuan (Jackie Chan's real-life sifu), in the movie The Old Master. Here he got to not only put focus on his martial-arts skills, but also, his Dancing. He does a type of "Robot" Kung Fu, which I thought made the film, even sillier. I know that they were shooting for Comedy, but they also shot themselves in the foot, as far as making an entertaining film. Ironically, it didn't suffer at the box-office. He seemed to have decent skills, which leads me to believe that, had he concentrated more on himself, he could have put out more exciting films.
