To me she was a very cute woman (she was runner-up in the 1966 "Miss Seiko Beauty Pageant"), who seemed to get thrust into the world of Martial-arts films, against her will. She doesn't have any fighting skills, but like so many others -- she became a trained "Screen-fighter" at the studio's expense. She was basically used as "Window-dressing" in most of the action films she appeared in, and that usually, spells trouble for the Hero (or anyone who tries to helps her out).
Forever in need of being rescued, she tried to rally the towns' people to help Huang Chung-Hsin in The Vagabond Swordsman, when he needed help trying to save them. She (also) fared well in the film, Village Of Tigers -- along with actor Yueh Hua, as well as Star-studded, The 14 Amazons. Her best work as an actress came in dramas such as Fallen Petals and Spring Blossoms, where she could put those sad faces and tears to good use. While, not a bad actress, it seems that she (like many other females at the studio), were pushed to compete with Cheng Pei-Pei's sucess (in Swordplay films). They hoped to strengthen their female line-up (in the action department) as well as, securing replacements - in case an actress got married and left the business.
