Biography
He played Du Wei -- one of the senior students in the International smash hit 5 Fingers Of Death, playing a so-called tough guy who couldn’t fight a lick. He happened to be at the bar when Ge Hou (Lo Lieh) was buying some wine, when he saw that he wouldn't fight Chin Chi-Chu back, he just assumed that he was like him - scary. He was one of a number of actors, who never seemed to try to do more of what was asked of them. He hasn't played in any memorable roles since then, except in the obscure Shaw classic The 6 Assassins, where he at least, tried to fight. Like, most studios, Shaw Bros' was trying to promote their bonafide stars, which did little, for him. He's kind of like the "Barney Fife of Kung-fu" - he talks a lot, but doesn't have a chance, when it comes to backing it up.
When he was met Chao Hsiung in the forest with his henchmen, he looked like he was going to pee on himself. He got totally dusted, and then rode back to school on a cart (face-down). In Jimmy Wang-Yu's The Chinese Boxer, he met him again, but this time he avoided him like the plague. Most of his film roles were basically of the Dramatic kind, as we could tell once he started moving that he couldn't fight. He would, eventually, move over to Golden Harvest, where he would (again) be beaten up, by Chao Hsiung (who, also, moved to the studio), in The Skyhawk. Like many before him, he never achieved the stardom that he sought, as better talent came along.
