Biography
Class, Class, Class. If there were nothing else to say about this lady those (3) words would have said it all. She was a very big star for Shaw Bros' because of her acting and her voice, as she is an accomplished Singer (she did the singing for another actress behind the scenes). She even used to play "Men" roles in numerous Chinese Operas (as this was customary at the time). She has won (2) Golden Horse Awards (Oscars), Asian Pacific Best Actress Award and the Best Movie Performance Award, from The Chinese Culture Organization.
Though she isn't known for her fighting, she has done nice work in Finger Of Doom (though most of her scenes were the work of editing). She has (also) done quality work on such films as Temple Of The Red Lotus and Joseph Kuo's The Mighty One. She was one of the most (if not the most) successful actresses to come thru the Shaw Bros' studio. She was just as important to Asian Cinema as "Butter is to Toast" and her achievements cannot be overlooked. She is married to another fine Shaw actor, Chin Han. Together, they made one of the cinema's most successful couples during their heyday. She still does (occasional) tours and puts on performances, often, with her good friend Hu Chin.
