Biography
He battled Ti Lung with his Ax-on-a-Rope, in The 5 Masters Of Death and was a menace, to just about every kung-fu star imaginable. Relying more on tenacity than skill, he will take on the best of them, but like most villains, he usually gets the short in of the stick. Also featured in a number of Jimmy Wang-Yu movies, including the ground-breaking classic The Chinese Professionals. He is a villain who also appears with Tan Tao-Liang in a host of movies such as Blooded Treasury Fight, Unforgiven Of Shaolin, and The Leg Fighters.
He is one of a slew of stars, who have made their mark in the kung-fu film world. His skill level, though not perfect, has all the makings of a good villain and his character portrayals are always interesting and varied. In Ninja Supremeo, he played a villain who was crippled by one of his foes (as was his side-kick Ma Chiu-Ku). He came back as a Shaky-handed villain, complete with a deadly array of techniques. A classic performance, all the way around.
He really stood out, in such films as Triangular Duel, Iron Neck Li, and The Brave Lion battling the likes of Barry Chan. He always added flair, to the roles that he plays and it's always better to see him in a role, that brought out the best of his arsenal. Given the film, he can be very entertaining or he may leave you wondering, when he'll ever get his chance to actually fight. His appearance in David Chiang's The Condemned, put all questions to rest and gave him the role of a lifetime. Here, we got to see everything from his acting ability, to some very fierce fighting. As his biggest role to date, it was (also) his best.
