You can almost always find him as a member of a gang of thugs waiting to pounce on the Hero of just about any kung-fu film he's in. He has appeared in many movies with Carter Wong, Wang Tao, and others, all the while racking up points in the villain category. Far from an exceptional villain, he has fought with some of the best kung-fu has to offer. When he was given a good role, he showed that he was a pretty good fighter.
He is usually very dependable he waiting for his turn to taste the hero's fist or foot, and unlike others, he will fight alone. He was most memorable, as one of the "Snake-fighters" going up against Bruce Li, in the film The Deadly Strike. His arms were painted like Snakes, which I thought gave the style, an authentic touch. He, like San Kuai, will usually stoop to comic routines involving kids, such as the playful Huang I-Lung. This was during the "Kung Fu Comedy" phase, where most thought that "Kid Routines", would sell. Yet, I thought that, he had too much skill, to have a kid beat him up (or to act so silly), in a number of films.

His built-in goofy looks have led way to some strange looking characters on his part, complete with "Cone-hat" (Challenge Of Death), and so on. In the fighting department he is just as capable as most second-class villains. Yet, if he had more vicious fighting skills, he would have made a much better villain, instead of the normally bumbling idiot parts he's use to playing. I like him in more vicious parts, such as Fatal Needles, Fatal Fists. The less comedy for him, the better his roles become.
