Biography
Falling in the category of 2nd-rate villain, he can be seen in some major movies, thought he's not always fighting major talent. His best role to date, was when he played the lead villain in the movie The Shaolin Boxers, where he gave James Tien a run for his money. You can always find him in the background, of most of the kung-fu movies he’s played in. Even though he had skill, it was no match for any serious villains (even in minor film roles). Most movies that I’ve seen him in, he's usually the "laid-back" henchman of sorts, who takes his orders from someone with more skill, than himself.
He had a good performance in The Deadly Strike with Bruce Li, which was [actually] a better showing for both of them. He’s never been the type of villain, to go berserk or overwhelm someone with these skills. Yet, the majority of the films he’s played in, only serves as barometer for his acting skills, not his fighting. He didn't possess the type of kung-fu skills that the top-notch villains did, what he brought to the table was another sneaky character that we couldn't wait to see get his.
Another of his better performances, would have to be in the Shaw Bros' film Payment In Blood, where he squares off against Yueh Hua. And, though it was an interesting film, it probably wasn't the best that he could have done (as a fighter) but as an actor, it was more than enough. Even films such as The Bloody Escape and Iron Bodyguard, didn't give him enough room to stretch, as an actor.
