Biography
You can add this tall guy to your list of actors who actually could fight. Big in stature (he is sometimes referred to as "King Kong"), he is Chinese-Vietnamese and at one time studied Tae Kwon Do, under one of the screens' best leg fighters - Tan Tao-Liang. After failing to create any impact when playing heroes, in films like Dumb Ox, or One To One, he crossed the line and found success playing bad guys. A decision that I'm sure, he's never regretted. This way, he gained more screen-time and (eventually) more roles.
Not very flexible as most Tae Kwon Do fighters, but that didn't stopped him from becoming one of the screens most intriguing villains. He has enjoyed a very good run as a screen fighter in countless kung-fu movies. He is also a friend of Jimmy Wang Yu and enjoyed the chance to star with him, Chen Sing and Chang Yi, in the classic 4 Real Friends (Dragon Squad). His friend would (also) go on to give him the movie role that would establish him as a star - Master Of The Flying Guillotine. This film solidified his villain status in Kung Fu films.

His performance in Snake & Crane Arts Of Shaolin, as the master of the "Iron Armor" technique, will not easily be forgotten. Going up against Chen Kuan-Tai in the awesome Iron Monkey, I saw him in a different light. Then, when he played the main villain, in the obscure (but excellent) The Crane Fighters, I knew he had arrived. Taking on Raymond Lui and Chia Ling, this was (easily) one of his best films.
