Biography
This man has been in so many movies, if these guys got royalties back then, he'd be a very rich man. Often, seen doing so of his best work with Jimmy Wang-Yu, Lung Fei, and Shan Mao - as he amassed a number of film roles, that show his skilld (as an actor). Not much when it comes to the fists and feet, but he will try his best sometimes just to keep the action going, but he's always outclassed (even by lesser named stars). He has appeared in numerous classics, but he's (usually) dead by the end of the film. One of his first highlighted roles, was in King Hu's classic, A Touch Of Zen. Since then, he had appeared in just about anything shot in Taiwan (during the '70's). He seemed to keep his performances "Short & Sweet" - because his screen-time is so limited. In The Gold Constables, he played a greedy double-crosser (who didn't know that he was actually playing Triple-cross) with Lo Lieh.
He likes to run away from fights a lot (Furious Slaughter) or just stands there and calls out the next set of competitors to fight (Master Of The Flying Guillotine). But there's always action around him, but he's never in the mix of things. The films where he tries to fight (The Hot, The Cool, & The Vicious, Shaolin Red Master, or The Great Hunter - all indicate an actor and not a fighter. Playing onscreen in the company of such fighters as Wang Tao, Tan Tao-Liang, and others, you'd think that they would have showed him a few moves. He's been in classics, but has never turned in a classic performance, as he was one of the most prominent faces, in a number of films.
