Biography
This former Captain in the Taiwanese Army, use to train the troops in the art of Tae Kwon Do. With a few small roles in Taiwanese films, he signed with Shaw Brothers, appearing in a handful of roles, including the teacher in their smash hit The 5 Deadly Venoms. He also appeared as one of the fighters, who cut off the arms of Chen Kuan-Tai's son, before he got ones that shot Darts in the Cripple Avengers.
From there, he joined up with Samo Hung and his stuntmen, which turned out to be, the best thing to happen to his career. His appearance in The Prodigal Son as one of Frankie Chan's bodyguards, breathed new life into his career. Subsequent films like Dragons Forever, and My Lucky Stars (where he took on Jackie Chan and started getting much better roles) to the A Heroic Fight where his skills were really showcased. He even got to battle Jet Li in Dragon Fight.
He's even overcame what a lot of actor/fighters could not, with the fall of Shaw studios in the mid 80's and a lack of kung-fu roles - the change of Genre. He has made the smooth transition to Modern Action films (one of my favorites being In The Line Of Duty-3) and has never looked back (or better). His skills were made for this era. He was one of the most sought after villains for the 90's - a long way away, from having his talent surpressed - at Shaw Brothers.
