Biography
Another student of Peking Opera teacher Jim Yuen-Eu, she received a "Best Actress Award" (Newcomer) in 1981 for the classic The Young Hero (It was the first movie she had ever played in). This limber young lady totally thrashed Yuen Mao in this film and equally put a whipping on Jimmy Liu in the awesome Fearless Duo, the only other movie I've seen her strut her stuff.
She reminds you more of Wen Hsueh-Erh than Chia Ling, but she seems to fight with the same intensity of Polly Shang-Kuan. She definitely got noticed, and yet, she didn't capitalize on it the way you would have thought she would, with a great deal more film roles. She definitely had the skill to become a famous name (during this period), but not everyone wanted to become a star. This was merely a job [for most] - especially, women - who wanted a family and left the films, after they became married.
