Biography
A prominent figure at Shaw Bros' in the mid 60's, he can be found in a number of their productions. He would alter work at Golden Harvest, beforetaking the Independent route, as a freelance actor. This man has been around, and no matter where he lands, he's always given excellent performances and done some quality work. Some of his better work has been in 7 Blows Of The Dragon, All Men Are Brothers (playing the easily-provoked, "Black Whirlwind" in both films), and the under-rated Kung Fu Hellcats (starring Chen Kuan-Tai).
In later films, he [often] played the "Drunken Beggar" with skills equal to those of the main villain, he's (almost) always, helping out the young (inexperienced) hero. Mysterious Footworks In Kung Fu and Eagle's Killer are prime examples of this. Though, he's a very capable fighter, more often then not, he liked to use his wits, to gain the advantage. Another fine actor, cut from the Samo Hung mold, in that he didn't let his weight keep him grounded. He was, as agile as he was big, yet, no slouch in the fighting department either (though his was doubled, for tumbling maneuvers).

He took over the role of the Beggar in Magnificent Butcher when veteran actor Yuen Hsaio-Tien (aka Sam the Seed), became too ill to complete the film (he later died from complications). He was a natural, later copying the elder Yuen's signature role in many of his own films, like Hitman In The Hand Of Buddha, and Little Mad Guy. Another, in a long line of people, that graduated from Shaw studios acting class, he was underrated as an actor, as well. His son carries on the family tradition and is an actor himself, starring in the modern-day classic The Story Of Ricky.
