Biography
Working at Shaw Brothers can make you a familiar face, working with the Liu Chia-Liang and Liu Chia-Yung can make you famous. This man has the type of skills, that should have made him a star in his own right. Compared to most of the so-called kung-fu stars of the silver screen, he was a talent, that seemed to be overlooked by the masses. Whether he's using his hands, feet, or weapons, he was always wonderful to watch.
Working with and around the Liu Brothers, he's picked up knowledge & skills that have served him well, in his career. He (actually) was one of Liu's 2nd unit choreographers, helping out on numerous films, as well as starring in them. He reminds me of Yuen Sheng-I, in that he is very "underrated" as an actor and a fighter. His performance in Return Of The Master Killer, displayed his acting abilities, while Fists Of The White Lotus showed off his fighting skills, as he and Gordon Liu took on late Lo Lieh, in one of his most memorable roles to date.

He had enough skills to actually carry a movie, and it's just sad that no one else, saw that in him. He didn't have leading man "looks" -- something that kept him in the background, in roles that helped to make the main star, look better. Films like Iron-Fisted Monk and Fists & Guts - showed the type of skills, that a lot of stars really wished they had. Even in small cameo roles (such as in Kung Fu Genius), you can tell that he had exceptional fighting skills. He could have played heroic or villainous parts with ease, as he had the technical skills, to make those roles believable.
