His films ranged from the intriguing - Portrait In Crystal, Flying Guillotine-2 to the Over-the-top - Super Inframan. The film Soul Of The Sword was an excellent film by him and I was thoroughly surprised, as the tone of the film, felt like it was directed by Chu Yuan. His film Usurphers Of The Emperor's Power could have easily been made by "actor-turned-director" Lu Chin-Ku, with it's "fast-paced-don't-blink" action. He was an interesting storyteller, as most of his films tend to draw you in, until the last frame of film is shown.
Under the pseudonym "Hwa I-Hung" - he worked on a number of films, in various genres. I was impressed, when I found his name attached to a number of films shot away from the Shaw studios. Eternal Films was a Hong Kong based studio affiliated with Shaw Brothers, where a number of Shaw personel worked on films, that were later distributed by Shaw studios, as well as shown in their theaters . Films like - Bruce Li's The Last Strike (Soul Brothers Of Kung Fu) and Dynamo - as well as The Crystal Fist, A Hard Way To Die, and Kung Fu Zombies - all starring Billy Chong.
