Biography
Known as the "Asian Madonna," she still has millions of fans, even (16) after her death.
She had gotten so popular, that the Triads decided that it would be in her best interest i they controlled her career. Her refusal made the headlines, when during an argument with one of them, she was Slapped in the face. It was said that JACKIE CHAN would joke with her, by having her Slapped in the roles she played in his films.
+++ Anita Mui Yim Fong debuted onstage at the age of six, and won the First Annual New Talent Singing Contest in 1982 when she was eighteen. Since then she has become one of the most important and recognized entertainers. She began her film career in 1983 and won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Hong Kong Film Awards with "Behind the Yellow Line". In 1987, the film �Rouge� won her the Best Actress Award at both the Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan and the Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1997, she was awarded Best Supporting Actress again for her role in "The Eighteen Springs" by the Hong Kong Film Awards. Mui was the President of the Performing Artists' Guild of Hong Kong.
