Biography
The 1st time Americans ever saw someone use a 3-Sectional Staff, was probably when they saw him using one in the film, One-Armed Boxer (1972).
Films like Chow-Ken (1972), The Invincible (1972), and The Champion (1973) probably helped him secure a job with Chang Cheh, after Liu Chia-Liang quit working for him. During this time he was hot property around this time in Taiwain. Having worked with Yang Ching-Chen on (4) of his films, when Chang needed a new Choreographer while in Taiwan, I'm sure his name came up quite easily. Actually, The Champion (1973) aka (Shanghai Lil' & The Sunluck Kid), was one of the films whose profits were being held in Taiwan. In the summer of (1973) Chang Cheh took a group of actors to Taiwain, with the sole purpose of using this kept capital to make films, under his Chang's Films banner.
I really liked the character he played in the film, The Swift Boxer (1978). He carried 2-Spears like Chen Kuan-Tai did in Opium & The Kung Fu Master (1984). His versatility with weapons and his Acrobatic skills lead me to believe that he also had Peking Opera training as a child.
