Biography
He did decent work in The Legendary Strike with the likes of Angela Mao, Carter Wong, and Chen Sing, he seemed to hold his own on the screen with them. Not the type of star where you'd be certain he could handle the action all by himself, because it seems that he needs co-stars who are more capable with fighting than him. He did fare well in the John Woo classic The Killer, where he was putting himself "Under-the-gun" (literally), by helping the man he was supposed to kill - Chow Yun-Fat.
After viewing his skill level, it would seem that he could have done so much better work in kung-fu films had he gotten with a better choreographer or director. It would seem that he should stick to the Modern films as they suit him better, because now he appears to be a much better actor. Some stars seemed to be more at home in modern movies as their true skills (acting) came to the forefront and you could believe them in these roles. Yet, in martial-arts movies they had to be able to convey the skills even if they didn't have them, and a number of actors just couldn't do that (no matter how hard they tried).
