Biography
Playing the Monk in The Shaolin Temple, he was one of the standouts of the film. A former coach of the "Shantung Wu Shu Team" - his skill even impressed the youthful Jet Li. An expert in Northern Preying Mantis, he is a student of the famous Lin Ching-Shan. He could hold his own with just about any of the younger Wu Shu performers that became famous, before he did in films.
He was acknowledged as the best martial-artist in China, and in 1960, was specifically requested by Chou En-Lai, to be included in an Exhibition Tour. They performed in Burma, Czechoslovakia, Japan, England, Australia, Turkey, Mexico, Egypt, and the United States. He moves as fluid as someone half his age and in films like Tai Chi-2, he shows us a talent that has been years in the making. |
