Biography
Another sexy starlet in the vain of Hu Chin, she was the Chinese "Marilyn Monroe" of her time. She was one of those actresses who made man stand up (literally) and take notice, thus she was mainly used for her sex appeal. Fighting was another story, throwing a punch would have probably broke her sexy little spine. So she fared much better in films like - Confessions Of A Private Secretary and Crazy Sex - which gave her more chances to show her acting ability (as well as look pretty doing it).
Films like Confessions Of A Private Secretary showed that she could carry a film, while appearances in The Chinatown Kid and Life Gamble were just films vehicles to show her sexy side and nothing more. Director Li Han-Hsiang was also instrumental in casting her in some of his films and raising her profile tremendously, in a number of his sex comedies including - Sensual Pleasures and Love Swindlers. She was a stunner, who seemed more at home in sexual soft-core films, as she was another (in a long line of) actresses, who couldn't make the transition to "fight" films. Hers, was a look of radiance, as she was more of a Vamp, than anything else (and she used her looks accordingly).

She was briefly married to actor Chan Shen, but was said to have separated early in their marriage because of his drinking and violent temper. She was merely "Eye Candy" for most kung-fu fans, hoping to see her strip or have a nude scene. Film roles in Brave Archer-2, The Chinatown Kid, and Life Gamble didn't do her justice, as these films were Male-driven. She was one of Shaw Bros' sexiest stars, and they tried to play on this fact, for most of her career.
