Biography
Here's another actress that toiled in movies until she got the break that could've made her a star. She played in Kid With The Golden Arm, as the determined woman, who would eventually give Lo Mang a fatal tummy ache (by sticking a sword thru his back). Other than this mediocre "high-point" in her film career, her played the woman who tried to trick a Monk (played by David Chiang) into bed in the excellent Shaolin Abbot (A Slice Of Death).
She would continue her winless ways by appearing in films with nothing more to do than cry (Eagle Fist) or beg (Dirty Ho). I felt, like she was totally wasted, in all of her film roles. Most people felt director Chang Cheh hated giving woman film roles that required them to do more than cry or be killed, this was not true. If they had no major parts in a story, he felt the script might as well stick to the fighting parts.

In that vein, she had her Legs chopped off in the opening scene of his film Crippled Avengers (her son's arms were chopped off as well), this set up the movies morbid theme. And, since she didn't really have any fighting skills to begin with, she, like a lot of actresses during that time, would have to settle for "Damsel-in-Distress" roles or appear in Modern films where only acting was required.
