Biography
Most will remember his face as "Ah Gu-an" from Return Of The Dragon with the late Bruce Lee. He has graced countless kung-fu films, yet action isn't what he's all about. Coming from the Li Kun school Comedy, he's more comfortable with making you laugh than bashing your head in. He played a sleazy director in Bruce Lee, His Last Days & Nights, putting the moves on seductress Betty Ting-Pei to get her to do a movie for him, then blackmailing her with Nude pictures of her. He worked at Cathay Films, before finding his way to Golden Harvest (who actually bought the studio from the owners of Cathay).
He had appeared in the ground-breaking, Escorts Over Tiger Hill, as this was one of his bigger roles, while working as a basic actor. I liked his part in Bruce Lee & I, where he played a character that stuttered. He meets Huo Hsing, and wants him beaten up for making funny of him, only to find out the he stuttered too. Most of his roles in films, have been geared towards Comedy, more than anything else. He has had a very long run in feature films as well and could be found in as many Modern films (70's type), as well. Like many without great fighting skills, he would be regulated to roles that focused on his talents as a comedian, more than anything else.
