Biography
He played "Captain Chiu" in the obscure hit Shaw Bros' classic The 6 Assassins (1971) and gave Yueh Hua nothing but hell in the underrated, yet, interesting Pursuit (1972). He was primed to be another of Shaw Bros' top villains, but as most, he would stay in the shadow of such Master villains of the period as Tien Feng and Huang Chung-Hsin. Being veterans at the studio, they were probably in line for the [much] better roles, when it came to choosing [certain] actors for certain parts.
In Oath Of Death (1971), he got his eye whipped out and in The Fastest Sword (1968), he pressed Lu Ping into a duel, he knew he couldn’t win. He got stuck in the villain roles because, as most actors with scowls on their faces, it's probably the only roles that were offered to him. As a villain, he definitely showed promise, seeking to add to the characters he played. In The Mighty One (1971) he even threw a child in a tree. And though villainous roles weren’t scarce, other actors with better physical skill, probably beat him out of numerous roles.
