Biography
When it comes to movement, whether it's in the shape of a form (kata) or straight out kung-fu, he's in an elite class. A Wu Shu stylist, who can do just about everything that Jet Li can do, he displayed excellent skills. His claim to fame, came on the heels of his spectacular performance in the film South Shaolin Master (aka Red Dragons Of Shaolin). A master with the Spear, his movements are very crisp and his acting seemed to be first-rate, as well.
If you are a kung-fu stylist, looking for movies that show great kung-fu and excellent forms, then check out the films from Mainland China (they are some of the best). Though, I haven't seen him in many films, the ones I've seen, never ceases to entertain. The sequel - South Shaolin Master-2, showed that he wasn't just a "One-Hit Wonder" - because his movements were just as incredible, as they were in the first film. With top-notch action and excellent fighting, his films are definitely worth checking out. You have to wonder where guys like him were, during the the beginning of the kung-fu phase. Probably, somewhere practicing, waiting on his "big break" to happen. |
