Biography
Very rarely does a “Stunt-double” of a major star, step from behind the shadows to become a major star, himself. Yet, that's what happened to this guy. While playing doubling for Jet Li, he positioned himself to become one of Hong Kong's top Action stars. After Jet and director Tsui Hark parted ways with the completion of Once Upon A Time In China 3, many thought that this excellent series was over.
I guess they thought, "Hey, why not just use the stunt-double, after all he knows all the moves" - and the rest is history. Well, that he does, as well as adding his own flair to what he does, watching him is like Poetry in Motion. He even fought with Jet in the film Fong Sai-Yuk. Yet, his best film may undoubtedly be the dark-themed hit The Blade, which tested not only his martial-arts skill, but his skill (and range) as an actor as well.

In it he played a One-Armed Swordsman that even Jimmy Wang-Yu would have been proud of. It showcased his abilities and gave him a good chance to show us what he's capable of once you let him do his thing. Hopefully, he will be adding more movies like this to the excellent ones his given us so far. Starring in such Modern works as Body Weapon and Mahjong Dragons, has definitely helped his career along, quite nicely.
