Biography
Yet, another student of Peking Opera teacher Jim Yuen. Looking like he could belong to Simon Yuen , he possessed great Acrobatic abilities and timing. Usually, a background player, in that, he's doubled for stars, when it came to Tumbling and agile movements. When the camera pulls back and the face can hardly be seen (the Longshot), is usually when this man goes to work. He garnered much bigger roles in Hocus Pocus and Bloodchild, which were two of his better films.
He (often) worked with Samo Hung and has done some of his best work with him. He played the Monkey-stylist fighter in Magnificent Butcher, Chung Fat's teacher in The Victim, as well as Encounter Of The Spooky Kind to excellent effect. Obviously, the Monkey Staff and character (seen in the opening scene of Mad Monkey Kung Fu and performed by Hsiao Ho) was his mainstay in Opera School. He (finally) got to shine in a starring role -- playing a brash young man, who gets beat up by the pretty Yuan Chu, in the film The Young Hero.

Given the possibilities, he could have been a much larger star, had he really pushed his abilities and tried out for more roles (with Independent companies), [perhaps] as the lead actor's friend who gets killed, so the Hero can take revenge. At least, that would have given him more screen-time, than he normally got. It seemed becoming a star, was harder than staying one. I think, the fact that he didn't have that handsome face, that most associated with a leading man -- was one of the main reasons, he didn't succeed. But, if they were going on sheer talent, he would have been a star, a long time ago.
