Biography
A former Shaw Bros' actor who appears mostly in movies that starred Fu Sheng. He was actually a good friend of Fu Sheng's, even appearing in his wedding. On the screen, he's not the type of fighter you want watching you back in a fight, as his skill level wasn't top-notched. In the films he's played in, he usually gets beat up. He got his wrist crushed in my favorite - Disciples Of Shaolin (Invincible One), and even set his girlfriend up to be raped by a group of thugs (which included Chiang Sheng and Lu Feng and Cheng Tien-Chi) in the film Demon Fists Of Kung Fu (aka New Shaolin Boxers).
I've never seen him give a standout role and I'm not quite sure that he could handled a much larger part outside of getting beat up. He gave up his life to pose as a decoy in the excellent 5 Masters Of Death and he's usually in a lot of roles that kept his in the background. He starred as one of Ku Feng's henchmen in The Shaolin Kid, where his boss nearly killed him in a practice session. He's starred in some excellent Swordplay films under director Chu Yuan such as the film Sentimental Swordsman, but with his given talent; he's just not believable as a ruthless character.
He would later take his talents behind the camera, as a director.
