Biography
This award winning actor/director has played in numerous Shaw Bros' films in the early 60's. He starred opposite Cheng Pei-Pei in The Rock, playing the lead villain. Ironically, it would be this film that the American public would see him for the first time, in the obscure None But The Brave. Even in this film, you could tell, that he was more of an actor, than a martial-artist. He, still, gave a believable performance. His work in that movie was decent, as best, but for a Dramatic actor, you could tell that he seemed out of place in a kung-fu movie.
He has won awards for his acting in dramas, but stardom somewhat eluded him in kung-fu films, probably because; he was not martial-arts (and it showed). That didn't stop him from appearing in films that helped his acting career. Movies like Downhill They Ride and End Of The Black seemingly did more for his career that his kung-fu debut ever did. He died at the end of (1973), his death was overshadowed by the Bruce Lee Craze, which (possibly) hindered many from knowing his work at that time.
