Biography
Here's another hidden talent, who has been in countless kung-fu films, displaying excellent abilities, without ever having a starring role. You (almost) always find him portraying the Teacher of the hero in the film, usually, it was the colorful Li I-Min (Invincible Shaolin Kung Fu, 7 Commandments Of Kung Fu). Though, he has decent acting skills, they are (often) overshadowed, by his excellent fighting skill. He was one of those actors, that when you give him something to do, you couldn't wait to see what he'd do next -- but when he had nothing to do, you (often) wondered why.
He reminds me of Jack Long, in that his portrayal of a kung-fu teacher, seemed to be a part, that he was meant to play. I think his role in the movie Ninja Supremeo, was one of his best performances to date, as it showcased both his acting and fighting skills. If only he was given more roles like this, I'm sure we would have heard a lot more from him. With his skill level, he could have had a much higher profile as as actor, than he did.

Like many, his stay at Shaw Brothers, was brief. He could be seen in films such as The Imposter, Disciples Of Death, and even earlier (extra) work - The Devil's Mirror. He gave one of his better performances in the gangster film, The Clan Of Righteousness. Here, he battled Wang Kuan-Hsing and rival gang members, in an interesting look at the Underworld. Like many actors of his day, he got "piegon-holed" into certain parts and never rose above them. While he put in some good appearances, they were never the kind to elevate -- what little fame he had acquired, during the genre's run.
