Biography
She gave a stirring performance in the obscure hit Deaf & Mute Heroine, taking out her vengeance with a blade instead, of her fists. Another actress from Shaw Bros' vast selection of actors and actresses, during the 60's and 70's. She never (really) stood out in other films the way she did here, often playing more of an ensemble cast. Unlike some of the other actresses, she wasn't able to sustain her transition into "Swordplay" films (even Nora Miao had an easier time). Still, she was a very interesting actress, who was definitely underused at the studio, as they concentrated more on the main crop of stars (Lily Ho, Li Ching, etc).
In the film The Silver Fox, she got a chance (not a big one) to display her acting talents, as she got her arm chopped off by her own father. Her appearance in the Golden Harvest epic - The Fate Of Lee Khan (shot by the legendary King Hu), was probably because they needed a few more female actresses, to fill out the film. This, and the fact that she was now working for Raymond Chow, saw her trying to re-establish herself as an actress, within a sea of new talent (Angela Mao, Polly Shang-Kuan). She is not you would call an expert fighter, which is probably why we never saw her in any other films, where she was the main attraction. In the film The Bloody Ring, she had a much bigger part than she normally got, when featured in films after leaving Shaw studios.
