Biography
If you've ever seen Frosty the Snowman - the one who does the narrating (Burl Ives), was a dead-ringer for this guy. He has been a fixture at Shaw Bros' for many years, before tasting International fame, as the teacher in 5 Fingers Of Death, with the late-great Lo Lieh. He was a true actor, in every sense of the word, adding something new, to each role he took. He, normally, played "Fatherly" types, scholars, or monks; roles that called for dramatic acting only, without having to fight. He, also, directed films early on in his career, concentrating on the heroic deeds of legendary figures Huang Sze-Kuan and Fong Sze-Yu.
These fighters' lives, would be touched upon again in films by director Chang Cheh. He was a dramatic actor, who flexed his acting muscle, among veteran actors and actresses, alike. Well-respected for his contributions to acting and directing by his peers, he bought "somber" productions to life, while aiding those who had the opportunity to work with or around him. He was the head teacher, of Shaw Bros' Drama Division, teaching countless new students a craft, that would make some of them legends (among fans). It was his classes, that many had to pass, in order to (truly) call themselves actors.
