Biography
What Bruce Lee did for kung-fu movies, he has certainly done for Hong Kong Action Cinema. Granted, whenever someone holds (2) guns in their hands in any Hong Kong action film, they are automatically compared to him. Although, most people have only heard of him in recent years, he's actually been acting since the early 70's. An actor who gives you your money's worth with style and grace, he was successful in Television before he ventured into the movies. He made his debut 1974 on TV in The Reincarnation.
Though, he's mostly known for Modern day films, he did make a martial-arts movie long before he became Internationally famous for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Yet, no one in the Media, ever mentions his role in The Postman Fights Back, where he first got to work with Yuen Woo-Ping. Why, I'll never know, because it was a nice start for his venture into kung-fu films, but, he went back to playing in Modern setting films again and actually came out a winner.
His signature move (two 9mm's blasting simultaneously) was used by Bruce Willis in the The Last Boy Scout and everyone else, in today's films. He made his American debut in The Replacement Killers, as his films The Killer and Hard-Boiled were considered Imports. Though most (myself included), are anxiously waiting for him to star in a Hollywood-made action film directed by his good friend John Woo. Hopefully, he can play in the 5th installment of Mission Impossible, as the main villain -- now that would be a switch.
