Biography
Even before his career in Asian cinema began to flourish, he starred with veteran American actor Steve McQueen is the U.S. war classic The Sand Pebbles. A very misplaced actor in kung-fu movies, because there are fighter/actors and Screen-fighters but he seems to fall nowhere in between. He is the older half-brother of siblings David Chiang and Erh Tung-Sheng, and he's put out some outstanding performances himself.
He won a Golden Horse (Asia's equivalent of the Oscar) award for "Best-Supporting Actor" in the film C'est La Vie Mon Cherie. He is one of few actors from the 70's kung-fu period that still acts in films today. He's played his share of villains (I liked him in Pursuit), but mostly in Modern film settings. He is living testament that acting is definitely in the blood, as it is the first time (that I know of), that (3) people from the same family (in this case brothers), that have each won Awards for their work in films, Asian or American.
