Biography
Another of kung-fu's "2nd-class" villains, who try as he might, just can't seem to kick your butt without help. He's played in numerous movies and is usually playing the bad guy, though I've seen him in a number of pictures playing a Monk (Shaolin Vs Lama). He's had some good guy roles, but they never seem to do him justice. Semi-descent skills as a fighter, but not the kind who would make the lead villain run for cover and definitely not the type to play the main star in a film (his acting wouldn't allow that). Like many, his career ran (both) hot and cold.
This was one of a few roles, where he got to let loose and show some real skill. I've always felt, that he played a decent Bad guy, but, far from what he was (truly) capable of. Most of his films had him surrounded by stars, who had larger followings, but he always seemed to standout (when allowed to do something). In the film Drunken Arts, Crippled Fists, he played one the the (3) Spearmen, who took on the agile, Li I-Min. Probably, one of his best roles, was that of a teacher, in the film, The Red Phoenix. Though, a small role, he showed a lot more intensity and acting ability, than in a number of his films, where he had a much bigger role.

He's usually, totally wasted when he's playing Monks and such, because, given that he's not a powerhouse actor, he can fight enough, to be another villain for the hero to face. Most of the time he (usually) gets killed long before the end of the film. In 2 Tigers Fight Against Dragon, he fought for about (10) minutes straight and though it was far from a great fight scene, he looked as though he did the best he could. In all, he has done decent work, but not enough to put him in the "Villains Hall of Fame", as far as kung-fu films go.
