Biography
One of the first times I've ever seen him onscreen, Yang Sze was tossing him like a paper sack, in the Shaw classic 5 Fingers Of Death (1972). It seems, that he'd decided to fight the Mongolian fighter for a few silver coins and came up short. You hear a guy from in the crowd shout "Watch out, he's tough....!!", as the crowd laughs. Well, we had no idea just how tough, he really was. This man, has helped shape some of the excellent fight scenes that you see captured onscreen, as well as participate in some of most memorable ones. He helped Wang Jang-Li hunt down the crafty Simon Yuen in Snake In The Eagle's Shadow (1978), was accidentally killed instead of David Chiang in Shaolin Handlock (1978). He has fought with the likes of John Liu, Li Hai-Sheng, Meng Fei, and Liu Chia-Yung just to name a few.
He's done fight choreography with fight-master Yuen Woo-Ping and helped him direct the movie that helped launch Jackie Chan's career as a star here in the States. Snake In The Eagle's Shadow (1978), was one of the most successful films to come out of Hong Kong, since One-Armed Swordsman (1967). Very intricate techniques seem to flow from this man; it's no wonder he and Yuen Woo-Ping hooked up. And with that devilish smile, you almost always know what's coming next. In the Hell's Wind Staff (1979), he took an eye from Yip Fei-Yang (who later returned the favor) and has fought with just about all the top stars of the kung-fu era. He worked at Shaw Brothers (in the 1980's), putting a masterful touch to such classics as - The 5 Superfighters (1979), Evil Masters (1980), Lion VS Lion (1981), , and the fast-paced, Kid From Kwangtung (1982)
