Biography
He is the son of Hung Gar legend, Chiu ?
Another "Hung Gar" stylist who knows his stuff, I just hate it that he did the same form all the time, when he's displaying his skill. Has worked with some of Hong Kong's finest actors including Samo Hung and Jackie Chan. Likes to use the "Butterfly Swords" and is very capable with his hands, though his legs could have used a few courses of "Tam Toy" training.
He played in more Comedic roles, and had me cracking up when Chiang Kam shook his hand (after he broke those bricks) in Snake In The Eagle's Shadow. He's a good character actor who (to me) never was given full range to show what he was capable of on the screen. Given his skill-level, he should have been in the same league as a Wang Jang-Li or a Wilson Tong, when it came to handling top-notched villains. I would haave loved to see him playing a vicious cold-blooded villain, but, I've never thought he had a mean-looking face, to pull that off.
He, obviously, was good-natured and could take a joke, as most of his characters (slow-witted strongmen type) were often the butt of jokes in the films he played (Duel Of The 7 Tigers, Lackey & The Lady Tiger, and the hilarious His Name Is Nobody). He also seemed to love wearing those Musclemen "Power Bands" around his wrist, (wonder if they work?). Actually, they were for wrist support when doing anything strenuous which involved lifting, and so on (you knew that, right?). Of course, in the movies they were just for show. He was last seen in Kung Fu Hustle, showing fans that he's still moving very well for his age.
