Mr. & Mrs.

The happy couple would be united at last, they had been in love for three years. Finally, they had their wedding ceremony at the Marriage Registration Office at Sun Pu Kiang on 4 December at 11:00 a.m. They would be the last pair of actors who got married in the year of 1976. Fu Sheng was a leading actor in the Shaw Bros.

Run Run Shaw let them use a Rolls Royce and also gave a blessing speech in the wedding ceremony. This was never been done, even during the wedding of the famous actor Ivy Ling-Po and Chin Han. Although Fu Sheng was young, he acted in many martial art movies. In his movies, he was always in control, but the wedding ceremony was different. This made him very nervous in real life.

He was with the groomsmen, Wang Chung and Yeh Tien-Heng. They welcomed the bride in the Merlin Hotel at 10:45 a.m. The bridesmaids were Lily Li, Siau Yao and younger sister of Amy Tao. They were experience bridesmaids and Fu was a successful man now.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise that the welcoming present would be expensive. The 4th of December was a weekend and at the end of the year. Many couples wanted to get married by the end of the year that the "Marriage Registration Office" was full with people. Since he was a famous actor, many of his young supporters were waiting to see him at the office. When the couple arrived, the atmosphere was cheering and grand.

Right before the wedding ceremony, Fu Sheng cried in front of his mother. He was extremely happy and excited. The bride, Chen Li felt the same too, but didn't cry, so that it wouldn't ruin their blessings as newlyweds. They swore, exchanged wedding rings and signed the marriage certificate. This was the official procedure of a wedding ceremony. Everybody just had to do the same procedures. This winter was warm and the air conditioning system was down in the office. This caused sweat dropping from her forehead.

After the ceremony, she made victory sign with her fingers and smile "Now I'm your officially your wife, so don't run away from me." His father, Chang Jen-Lung was a famous person in New Territory. After the ceremony, they drove home to have a ceremony and to pray for their ancestors ( a traditional chinese ceremony). In this traditional ceremony, the new bride had to serve tea to the elders representing her respect to them.

This was serious ceremony in the old days. But now, people just did this in a much simple way. At night, the new couples welcomed the guess in a special dinner in Merlin Hotel. The atmosphere was grand. However, not much people from the acting business showed up except for Chen Ping, Nora Miao, Tang Jia Li, Ling Yun and a few more.

It was a surprise that even his master, Liu Chia-Liang and his best friend, David Chiang were not in the dinner. Even the big boss, Shaw Yat-Fu, was late by fifteen minutes. The dinner started then. First, Shaw gave a speech greeting and praising the new couples. Chang Cheh was the important person that trained Fu Sheng from a nobody to a famous superstar. He was like a father to the new couples. But in this ceremony, he didn't give any speech. Maybe, he was just a shy person who didn't like to show off.

The new couples were deeply in love, they were not shy or afraid of kissing in the public. When she was ill, he was so caring that he sent her to the hospital and spent all his spare time by her side. He was very sensitive to the public, when people were saying saying that "His father disagreed with his wedding". He wanted to prove this was not true.

In 1974, when he and Chen were interviewed, they mentioned that they would get married at any time. But, they were not satisfied with their careers yet. No matter how much money he had, they vowed that they would not rely on their parents any more after they married.

Fortunately, things worked out just as he planned. Two years later, they were successful and he did not want her to spend too much time on her singing carrier. She had planned to have a fashion boutique in Taiwan. Since her health was not so well, having concerts in different places was bad for her health. They had to spend time away from each other because of her singing career. She was scared that he might get bored, so she bought a lot of toys for him to spend his time with. They were one of the most popular couples at Shaw studios and even with the passing of time, one has died and the other has moved on with her life, yet, to many they will always be inseparable.
